Surrender Into the Flow

Surrendering into the flow can feel like not knowing how to swim and being thrown into the ocean. Panic sets in immediately. The body stiffens. The mind starts racing. But the truth is, the body is dense. It will float. Survival is already built in.
It is the brain that creates the fear.
The brain does not know the difference between real danger and perceived danger. When fear shows up, it reacts as if there is a bear standing right in front of you. Even when there is no wilderness. Even when all that is happening is a leap into something new. That is why imposter syndrome feels so real. The heart races. The chest tightens. Fight or flight activates. The body responds as if survival is at stake.
But nothing is actually chasing you.
Surrendering to the unknown feels terrifying, especially when control has always felt like safety. Yet the unknown is often the very thing that offers escape. Growth requires letting go. And letting go is impossible when everything is being held tightly.
Holding on and surrendering cannot exist at the same time.
Faith asks for something different. Faith asks for movement without certainty. Walking by faith and not by sight means stepping forward without needing every detail mapped out. It means trusting God enough to move even when the outcome is unclear. Not because harm is impossible, but because protection is promised.
You are not truly walking into the unknown when you trust God. You are walking into alignment. You already know you will not be placed somewhere meant to destroy you. You will not be led into harm. The wave may be high. The speed may be fast. But the direction is intentional.
All that is required is riding the wave.
Life moves quickly. Faster than expected. Like a current that does not slow down just because fear appears. Fighting the flow is what causes exhaustion. Resistance is what pulls the body under. It is not stopping that causes drowning. It is fighting what is already moving.
The only real option is surrender.
Like the sea turtles riding the current. No panic. No resistance. Just movement. Just trust. The current is fast. Life is fast. Almost lightning speed. But the flow is carrying you whether you fight it or not.
Surrender allows you to breathe while moving forward.
